Just read something about the world’s first smile-activated dessert vending machine. The way it works is when you stand in front of the machine, your face is automatically pictured on the screen and fitted with moustaches and other shenanigans. Once the machine prompts you to smile, facial recognition technology determines the wideness of your grin, takes a photo and with your permission, is uploaded onto face book. You then select from the touch-screen the dessert of your choice and collect your sweet reward. These machines will apparently be hitting the global scene in the near future and would be interesting to see how they fair here in Australia.
