The Best Option For My Aging Dad
January 22nd, 2010 by admin
There was never any doubt in my mind that elderly home care is the best option for my dad. He is over 70 years old and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease five years ago. It was a terrible blow for the rest of the family, but we have learned to accept it and concentrate on getting him the best possible care and still have him with us at home. Unfortunately, I was working full-time and between family and career obligations, I know that I needed help to make things work.
I now have a live-in caregiver to see to my dad’s daily routine. From the moment my dad wakes up until bedtime, he gets the assistance he needs to perform everyday tasks like bathing, grooming, eating, taking medication, and whatever he feels like doing. At the same time, I feel better, knowing that I am leaving him in capable hands when I go to work or care for my own family.
