Wine Clubs as Wedding Presents

I have an online friend that I have been talking to for over ten years.  We met while playing a video game and have always kept in contact even after we both quit playing.  He is getting married in a couple of months, and while we have never actually met in person, I still want to send him a gift.  I am thinking about wine clubs as a good present for him and his new wife.  I know he drinks, but I am not sure on whether or not he likes wine.  Still even if he does not like wine, it would be great for entertaining guests.
