It’s probable that the Windows update you recently load was corrupted. how to fix svchost exe problem? Click on Start> Run and type in services.msc. The Services window will pop up, showing all the services available in the system. Look for the Automatic Updates service and open it (double-click). Go to Log-On tab and look for the options Local System Account and Allow Service to Interact with Desktop. Make sure these two options are UNCHECKED. Next, under hardware profile section, go to Log-on tab again, make sure it’s enabled. At the General tab, the startup type should be Automatic. Change it if its not. Also, the Sevrice status shoul be ‘Started’, if its not, click on Start button.

Next, look for Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) service within the services list. Then repeat the same step above.
